Our History

In the summer of 2006, a lightbulb moment happened for Martin Chuck while coaching a student in Reno, Nevada at Arrowcreek Country Club. The student was a middle age man, completely new to golf. Martin enjoyed introducing new golfers to the game a great deal. This fellow proved to be a challenge! During the lesson, Martin explained the idea of how a club and ball react to create flight and the physical movements to facilitate the action, but the good fellow couldn't wrap his head around the concept. After that lesson, Martin realized he needed a better way to describe the moment of contact and that became the genesis of the Tour Striker Training Club.

Martin began crafting a club head with a grinder in the cart barn. The idea; if a student understood the mechanics of impact, they could reverse engineer their movements to strike the golf ball effectively.  What was eventually named the "Tour Striker Training Club, was intended to make striking a golf ball harder, requiring more precision. What occurred with students was remarkable. Uninitiated golfers began to understand impact dynamics for the first time and Martin knew he had a product that could help people play better golf. With the relentless support of his wife, Stacey. The Tour Striker Training Aid business was born and prototypes and patent protection were put into motion.

They relocated to Bend, Oregon in December 2007 where Martin accepted a job as the Director of Golf at Tetherow Golf Club. The process of product development continued as Martin opened a new golf course project in Bend. In early December of 2008, they received their first shipment of 500 Tour Striker Training Clubs to their home in Bend. Stacey was pregnant with their son and had a two-year-old daughter in tow as they began their Tour Striker journey from their home. They packed boxes during nap time and evening hours, making sure securing the boxes with the noisy tape gun didn't wake the kids. They worked away trying to grow the company. In January 2009, Stacey, Martin and two dear friends staffed the smallest booth available for exhibition at the annual PGA Merchandise Show. The Tour Striker training club was an instant hit with industry professionals. This initial success lead to a partnership with the Golf Agency, a robust golf marketing company. They were instrumental in the successful launch of the Tour Striker Training Club on The Golf Channel with the help of long-time PGA Tour veteran and golf spokesperson Gary McCord. It was a 30-minute infomercial that ran successfully on the channel for over a year and sold over 60,000 units.

The initial success of the training product allowed Martin, Stacey and the kids to relocate to Chandler, Arizona, where they would open the Tour Striker Golf Academy in 2011 and continue to create and develop products with the honest intention to help golfers have more fun and shorten the learning curve of this crazy game called golf. Tour Striker has grown along the way and is known globally as the premier golf training aid company and has plans to continue that growth. We look forward to creating and innovating new ways to help golfers enjoy this game.
